Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

“The distinction between management and leadership is very simple: Leaders establish a vision and Managers implement the vision”

Professor Ed Locke

A Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is performance measure that is also used to drive performance improvement. KPIs and other metrics are usually set either to focus and link employee actions to the wider corporate objectives or specifically to resolve known problems. As always, however, goals and objectives can be manipulated by employees and can even produce unexpected results - positive or negative!

A major benefit of CDP is that because it delivers a range of action items, you can use the results to set appropriate and objective KPIs - and other metrics such as a balanced scorecard, in the knowledge that completing those actions will positively impact the business.

Objective measures of improved performance include improved customer satisfaction survey results, higher turnover or lower levels of staff attrition, all of which will feed through to improve your bottom line.
